This is the first pattern of the bubble project.
Long time ago I tried to create a pattern of a soap bubble.
I made soap suds, blown bubbles and made photographs.
Again and again I failed translating it in an embroidering pattern.
It turned out to be very difficult to translate the transparency of a bubble into yarn and fabric.
Then I found a picture of Rein Janssen. www.reinjanssen.com
I got his permission to use his photo.
The original photo is included in the pattern.
This time you can find the result in patterns Cross-stitch Bubble, Petit Point Bubble and Birth.
I did embroider this pattern with cross-stitches using Au Ver à Soie-Soie d’Alger.
Only full cross-stitches are used.
You will find the amount of cross stitches used each colour in the pattern.
The translation to DMC is made by the computer.
There are less colors of DMC as there are of Au Ver à Soie-Soie d’Alger, so using DMC there are 18 colours less used.
There is a photograph of this computer translation to DMC included in the pattern.
I don’t know how it will look embroidered for real using DMC.
Maybe sometime in the future I will try something else designing a pattern based on this photograph.
