Petit Point bubble

Petit point pattern of a soap bubble

SKU: 189_EN Categories: , , Tags: ,

This is the second pattern of the bubble project.
Also take a look at the description of pattern Cross-Stitch Bubble.
This pattern is embroidered with petit point stitches using two strands of Madeira Rayon.
Madeira is a synthetic thread with a high gloss, it is thin and strong.
69 colours are used.
With these 69 colours 143 shades are made by combining one threat of two colours.
It was not possible to make a convert list to DMC, I didn’t like the result trying.
The pattern only contains petit point stitches.
Petit point stitches are explained in the pattern.
You will find the amount of petit point stitches used each colour in the pattern.
Looking at the pattern the bubble has a circle shape.
Finishing the pattern it turn out to be crooked on the fabric, but I really liked it.
The bubble turned to be crooked because of the petit point and also because I used two threads of Madeira on 11 strands/cm fabric.
That is a bit much thread so the pattern turned out to be a bit twisted.
You can choose to embroider this bubble with cross-stitches but the pattern will be a lot bigger.
Maybe sometime in the future I will try something else designing a pattern based on this photograph.
